Frequently Asked Questions

Coffee

Where does your coffee come from?

Our coffee comes from Guatemala. Our first bag, First Love, comes from Carlos' family farm in the Atitlan region. We will add more coffees from different parts of the country very soon!

Do you offer light, medium, and dark roasts?

First Love is what you consider a medium roast. We believe that coffee shines at medium roast.

We will add a light and dark roast coffees but each selected specifically for the roast. Bean selection is important because each one will express differently at different roast levels. One thing is certain, we will never burn our coffee!

Are the farmers getting a fair price?

Given the direct relationship we have to the farm, paying a good price is in our core values. We are looking to have a positive impact all throughout the supply chain from farmer to consumer.

Do you sell decaf coffee?

Not at the moment.

How should I brew my coffee?

You can brew it anyway you like! People have different preferences for brewing but you can check this guide to learn a few different ways.

What is the best way to store my coffee?

The main goal is to maintain its freshness. We recommend investing in a airtight coffee container and maintain it at room temperature. You also want your canister to block light, a dark container is ideal.

Honey

What is the shelf life of honey?

You won't believe this but honey doesn't spoil!

My honey is starting to crystalize or is crystalized, does that mean it's bad?

No! Crystallization occurs naturally with honey. It doesn't mean that it is spoiled or the quality has changed in any way. In fact, crystallization is a sign of the honey's purity. You can liquify the honey, by putting the jar into a container of warm water (never boiling) for about 20 minutes. Or, you can try the crystalized honey as a spread!

What do you mean with Tropical Wildflower honey?

The apiaries are located near tropical forests that offer an abundance of flowers to the bees. The flowers will vary throughout the year, offering subtle taste differences to the honey, but this is the reason why our honey is so rich in taste.
